SFI - An Analogy To Business

To all new Affiliates,

SFI is like any business whether online or offline. Let’s see how SFI compares to a regular offline business such as a Restaurant.
Let’s say you want to start your own Restaurant. How do you let people know about your new eating establishment, where it is located, and what food you serve. Advertising! If you don’t advertise, almost no one will know about your business, unless they stumble on to it.

Advertising is a fundamental part of running any business, even having a board outside to catch the passer-by eyes, or a menu that is at eye-level. All of this is part of the advertising budget. Putting ads in newspapers, and even a mail drop is not unusual for a new Restaurant. Now does everyone who passes by come in and eat? Of course not. Does everyone who sees your SFI Ad sign up? Of course not. People may not be hungry, or may desire a fish meal, and you are offering pasta. In SFI, people may not be looking for your Home Business, they may want something different, or maybe your advertising isn’t catchy enough. For the Manager, does he only advertise once? No, his advertising budget is a weekly or month amount that he uses to ensure that his Restaurant is always easy to find.

Some people passing by will stop and have a look at the Restaurant menu. New people reading SFI information for the first time will read what it has to offer. But many people after reading the menu, will decide not to eat at his Restaurant. In SFI, we call these people Prospects, they have read some information about SFI but have not yet entered the door of this business. With the Restaurant, some people after reading the menu will come in and find a table. In SFI terms these are Affiliates. They don’t necessarily know what to eat, so they are given a menu. In SFI terms, the Sponsor or PTL, welcomes them in with a welcome email, and some initial information. It is this initial service that will make the biggest impression of the new Restaurant customer. If they feel at ease, and welcomed, they will stay and feel they have made the right decision about where to eat.

Once they have decided on what to eat, had their meal, seen how efficient the Restaurant runs, and the service they get, they pay the bill and leave. In SFI terms, these people are called Smartstart Affiliates. They have seen more information about SFI, realized how well its run, and made some decisions about the company. Some people won’t really notice this about this Restaurant, maybe they are too wrapped up in what they are doing, so they never get to complete Smartstart

For the Manager of the Restaurant, what will bring these people back? A friendly smile, maybe he will give them his business card, or a leaflet, or even take their email address, so he can follow up. If he takes personal interest in their dining experience, all this helps them to remember his Restaurant. But they may never come again. They may be people visiting the town, on vacation, or just passing thru.

But a few will return, and eat again. In SFI terms these are the EA Affiliates. His advertising has only needed to work once with them, they have enjoyed the dining experience so much they want to come back. Once they return, the Manager can begin to build the relationship with them, maybe give them a special table, something that treats them a little differently than the first time. Maybe they like the way the chicken is cooked or the texture of the pasta. He learns their names and refers to them by name on each successive visit. These are the EA Affiliates who will tell their friends and colleagues about the Restaurant, how well they are treated, and how nice the food is. And so the cycle of building a Powerline begins.

So building a Restaurant business, is really not that much different to building an SFI business. They both need to attract people, and the kinds of people who will stay, and feel good about the business, so much so that they tell their friends about it.

But what is different about SFI? Well the Restaurant Manager must have staff, cooks and waiters, so he has salaries to pay. He needs to ensure he has an adequate stock of food and drink. He has to ensure that these deliveries’s are on time and consistent. He has to pay rent for the premises, and utility bills. He pays his advertising bill. All of these are fixed costs, he pays them whether anyone comes or not. His Open times are fixed. With SFI, we are always Open. There are no employees, no stock, no premises expenses, and no utility bills. Of course there are expenses to any Home Office, but these are mostly tied up with the ongoing weekly bills of any household. With SFI, there is no delivery of goods to have to wait for. SFI handles all of the ordering process and delivery of products.

So we as business owners simply need to tell others about our SFI business, we need to advertise on a consistent basis, we need to bring people to the door of our SFI Business and SFI will do the rest. We are looking for the people who like our business, who like the way our company runs, and want to make SFI their Home Business too. As long as we keep advertising, and reaching out to new people, and as long as we welcome each one in and make them feel good, then, just like the Manager of the Restaurant, we have the best chance of keeping them.

To all Affiliates, keep advertising, and keep welcoming the new Affiliate in. Good luck with your business
