"Shadow" pyramid

Interesting question. I am unsure what you mean by "shadow", but I assume you mean hidden or not immediately recognized as a pyramid.

I get the "pyramid" question sometimes from prospects. And what I found out is that most people asking this question usually have come away from a network marketing experience that went south for them, or they know someone who was not successful and was disgruntled. The whole network marketing industry has evolved tremendously over the last 20-30 years, in fact, it is totally different.

While I may not be very good in explaining what a pyramid scheme is, I can simply state the following fact:

SFI's compensation plan allows anyone, regardless of their position in a powerline, to make more money than people in their upline, depending on their performance. It is a totally legal business concept.

In fact, I sometimes tell people, expecially those employed, to look at their employers organizational structure. They usually have a CEO on top, then Executive Management, then Middle Management and finally the worker on the bottom.

Question: Can you as a worker in that organziation achieve a higher income than the CEO, based on your performance as a worker? - In my mind, the traditional corporate world is structured very much like a classical pyramid!

I very much like SFI's graphical presentation on the compensation. Visit there and it will show you how it works and how you can benefit and build your own powerful position within SFI Marketing:

Hope this helps. Perhaps someone out there can tells us an exact definition as to what would be considered an illegal pyramid scheme.

Pyramid Scheme

Hello,

I am a newbie from Australia.

Using our laws as guidance, a pyramid scheme is something which solely promotes recruitment of "reps" as the way you make money. Sometimes the group has products to promote to hide the real purpose which is to promote recruits. These products are usually priced way over their actual value.

My understanding of SFI is that we do not earn any money to recruit people - we earn money from the products which are sold (either by us or our downline) - correct me if I am wrong here. Looking at the prices of the products, I believe they are within the expectation of most people who might want to buy them.

SFI can be considered Network Marketing but I do not believe that it could be considered as a pyramid scheme.

Also, I believe that SFI is registered with the Better Business Bureau (BBB)and I doubt that this registration would have been accepted if SFI was indeed a pyramid scheme (being not from the US, I don't really know what standing the BBB has, but I would expect that registrations would not be taken lightly).

Anyone out there who has any doubts about Network Marketing, should read Robert Kiyosaki's book "The Business School - For People Who Like Helping People".

Cheers,

Roslyn

the only product a scheme like that has, is "paper" with instuctions on what to do. You pay for the instuctions then they tell you to get copies of that, and thats what you send out to prospects. Usally its like this you pay the person use name is on topone dollar then remove there name and add yours to the bottomand by the time your name gets to the top your suppose to get rich. "What a KROCK" theres also the stuffing envolopes deal. The postal system has guidlines for this kind of thing. You have to sell a product for it not to be pyrimad. so they sell "paper".

been there done that when I was young silly and stupid.

I know, that SFI is BBB member, but I don't know what this BBB really is.

To see what the BBB is and what they do, here are their FAQ's, with the most direct answer showing:

thank you.

I have noticed that BBB protects only USA:s citizens, if I understood that correctly

Better Business Bureau is a US organization...the "protection" it offers is that it gives a "this business is OK" message to citizens.

I think you are missing the point about it. A business in the US that meets US guidelines and is a member of the BBB is a good business....no matter where you live!
